Cutler's, York Square Cinema, and the Educated Burgher -- that's like a long lost holy trinity!
I remember talking with you shortly after you had seen _Taxi Driver_, and your comment, "I'm not sure that they should be showing that movie..." (or something to that effect).
Funny that you remember that. I had probably seen Taxi Driver 20 times by that point but always on video at home. When I saw it at York Square, I was struck by how a couple people in the theater laughed diabolically at all the wrong times -- to the point that I felt like they were being encouraged to act like Travis Bickle. I was disturbed. (And come to think of it, I later made a short film on 16mm called "Wannabe Travis.")
